Gez Groom saw the recent Remember When photograph of the bridge over Portscreek and thought the painting on the right would also interest readers.

He says it was painted about 1963 from the shore of the Portsbridge Cruising and Sailing Club which is now part of the Hilsea roundabout and Lakeside Business Park.

Gez, of Roundway, Waterlooville, says: ‘It shows Portsbridge at low tide with the red brick Bastion Café and Hilsea Ramparts behind.

‘The white tower next to the phone box on the right hand side is, I think, the entrance to Hilsea Lido and sold ice creams.’ Can readers confirm this?
