Last week I published a photograph of the Outen family from Havant. In the back row were four young men in uniform and I asked if anyone could tell me which regiment they were in.
Thanks to Richard Boryer, of Havant, I can tell you what regiment three of them men were in.
The two on the outside were in the Grenadier Guards as their tunic buttons are in singles.
The lad second in from the right is in the Scots Guards as his buttons are in groups of three.
The lad second in from the left also has tunic buttons singularly but they are more spaced than the Grenadier’s tunic. He is also wearing a black leather belt and seems a little short to be a guardsman.
