The Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, Councillor Frederick Spickernell, welcomes King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, together with the young Princess Elizabeth, to Portsmouth on May 19, 1937.

The royal party was visiting the city before embarking aboard the Royal Yacht Victoria and Albert to review the ships at Spithead to mark the coronation.
