Graham Diggens wonders if readers know anything about this photograph, taken shortly before the outbreak of the First World War.

Graham, from Middleton-on-Sea, West Sussex, says that on the back is written ‘for Harry from mother – July 1914’.

He adds: ‘Harry is believed to be Harry Sherwood who was killed in the First World War.

‘The Sherwood family lived in the Alexandra Park area of Portsmouth around this time and a family member worked at Hilsea Gasworks, but that is all we know.’
