When I asked for your pictures from the Big Freeze of 1963 the last thing I expected was a snap of anyone playing ice hockey, outdoors, in Portsmouth.
But Lee Royston Bryant, of Lower Drayton Lane, Drayton, has come up with just such a photograph.
As you can see on the right, the bitter weather of 50 years ago had gone on so long that the ice was thick enough on Baffins Pond, Baffins, to support numerous people.
Lee, who was 11, is on the left wearing the duffle coat. The lads were using makeshift hockey sticks and the puck appears to be a piece of ice.
In the background, through the leafless trees, is the Baffins pub.
