Hazel Wilson (nee Quarrington) might now live in Merriam, Kansas, but she’s never forgotten her childhood in Southsea.

In particular she recalls the coronation street party of 1953 held in Lawson Road. She sent this picture from her home in the United States which shows Hazel sitting at the first table, laughing and looking up – the girl with the bow in her hair.

On either side of her are her sisters Stephanie and Yvonne. Brother Brian is alongside them in the white shirt and tie.

Hazel, who married an American, returns to Portsmouth every year to catch up with her family.
