Have your say

I see in The News last week that a trench training system left over from the First World War has been discovered in Gosport.

Strangely enough, when I was researching photographs for my first book The Naval Camps of Bedhampton, Havant & Leigh Park, I noticed this system of zig-zag trenches.

They were dug by matelots to the north of Stockheath Naval Camp, now part of Leigh Park estate.

I went up to the location in the hope that there were some remains, but the whole of the area is now covered in housing.
