This charming postcard of Bedhampton is thought to show a slice of village life which is 99 years old.
On the back it is dated 1912 when the village was an entirely separate entity to its bigger, brasher neighbour Havant,
Olive Hall, of Shawford Grove, Havant, discovered the picture in a drawer. It belonged to her late husband John, who was born at Hayling Island and moved with his family to Bedhampton.
Olive said her husband always believed that the man in the middle holding the cane and wearing the boater was her husband’s grandfather.
