Have your say

This marvellous building – St Barbara’s Church – stood a few hundred yards from Hilsea Barracks, Portsmouth, having been the Ordnance Corps’s chapel.

It is said that John Wesley preached beneath an elm tree close by.

When the barracks closed the church was demolished.

St Barbara’s Way off Copnor Road reminds us of the building.
