Have your say

No doubt most of you have at some time strolled around the rock gardens on South Parade, Southsea, admiring the plants and fountain.

Jackie Baynes recently wrote An Earthly Fairyland, the story of the gardens and its pavilion and she recently discovered this rare find at a postcard sale. It shows the gardens just a year after the opening when it was called The Grotto Gardens.

Has anyone heard the gardens called that before?

To the rear can be seen South Parade Pier in all its glory and apart from the fact that the gardens have matured, the scene is pretty well much the same.
