The signs says Wallis’s Tea Gardens and the photo was taken about 1902, although at this time, the pub-cum-tea garden was the Railway Hotel.

Earlier the pub had been the Rowlands Castle Tavern, probably adopting the new title with the coming of the railway or when Mr Blake, the landlord of 1875, obtained parcel rights. The establishment is now The Robin Hood.
