The Vikings are coming

The longship off Stokes Bay

The longship off Stokes Bay

A marvellous photo of the Camber bridge, Old Portsmouth.

Pregnant before the wedding ... so they ran away to Milton

Have your say

With the farewell to the American carrier George Bush last week after the invasion of several thousand of its crew, I wonder how many of you remember when a slightly smaller vessel sailed up Stokes Bay?

Can any of you recall when the Vikings invaded sometime back in 1947-48?

I received this photograph from Colin Shepherd of Zetland Road, Gosport who tells me that this replica longship was seen off the coast, perhaps as part of some re-enactment.

If you have a reference or remember it, can you drop me a line please.

Thank you.
