Ecstatic mum Iris Young wept tears of joy as she was reunited with the daughter she thought she would never see again.

More than 40 years of anguish and uncertainty were finally over for three-times heart attack victim Mrs Young and her daughter Rose after The News brought them together.

Mrs Young, aged 68, was forced to send her young son and daughter to a children’s home after she was abandoned by her husband and was unable to cope.

The former Portsmouth woman suffered with angina and brittle bones and was told by doctors another heart attack could have been fatal.

She turned to The News for help with her dying wish to see Rose again.
