With the ancient church of St Thomas standing guard, we see the view at Old Bedhampton from the junction of Brookside Road and Bidbury Lane.

Parts of the church date from 1140 and an ancient yew tree still grows by the door.

Mentioned in the Domesday Book, this older part of Bedhampton is often overlooked by those rushing past on the adjacent A27.

The bridge over Bedhampton spring was guarded by a gas lamp.
