It’s 1975 and we are in front of the old Royal Hospital, Commercial Road, Portsmouth, in a series of three photos taken by Philip Pyke, of Hilsea, which the Remember When team has stitched together.

The Royal was the main accident and emergency hospital for Portsmouth before Queen Alexandra at Cosham took over the role. Sainsbury’s now sits on this site.
