Here’s a picture thought to have been taken in the 1890s.

It comes from Pam Gran who would like to discover more about the woman in the middle.

She says she knows the other two women were members of the Knight family and she thinks the seated woman is Harriet Ings Daysh.

If so, she was born at Wickham in 1849, married George Hoar in 1866 and had two children George (1876) and Elizabeth (1879) whose married name became Toyner.

Pam says George died in 1880 and Harriet then married William Gregson and had Edith in 1883 and Emily in 1888. They were living at 61, Brompton Road, Southsea, in 1901.

Anyone who might be able to positively identify her and knows what happened to her descendants can contact Pam via pam.gran@ntlworld.com or (023) 9261 2346.
