These pictures featuring youngsters from the Cowplain area were part of a project co-ordinated by Rosemary Wilson.

For the past year she has been gathering more than 100 photographs for a book about the area’s history.

It will now be launched on Sunday (June 15) at the Borrow Centre Age Concern, Cowplain, from 3pm-5pm. It costs £14.95.

The photo of the Brownie pack was taken in the early 1950s when they met in St Wilfred’s Church hall.

About the same time the picture was taken of Cowplain Boys’ football team.
