Stansted House at Rowlands Castle has a Christmas festival

WE’VE got four ideas for you for the weekend.

CHRISTMAS: Stansted House at Rowlands Castle is putting on A Feast of Christmas, Past, Present & Future, with The Shopping Spree today from 12pm until 8pm, and Shop Til You Drop tomorrow and Sunday from 10am until 5pm. Discover treats and temptations, as well as exploring stately rooms with creative and festive decorations. You can even take part in storytelling, face-painting and craft activities for the day. For more information go to achristmasfestival.com.

FESTIVE: Find something beautiful from a local artist or maker to give this Christmas at the Aspex Gallery’s Christmas Craft Exhibition in Gunwharf Quays. Starting today, it runs until December 31. For more information about the exhibition call (0)23 9277 8080.

MYSTERY: Throughout the next two weeks, the Groundlings Theatre, Portsea will be home to a range of mysterious activities with its murder mystery evenings. Tonight and tomorrow there is a Fawlty Towers Murder, on December 6 there is a James Bond Murder Mystery while on December 8 there is a Christmas Murder Mystery. For more information call them on (023) 9273 7370.

LIGHTS: Charlie the Clownfish from Portsmouth’s Blue Reef Aquarium will be helping switch on the Cosham High Street Christmas lights next Wednesday between 4-6pm. The cuddly characters won’t be the only attraction, as there will be a range of musical acts, entertainment and children’s rides for all the family to enjoy.
