A devil of a good Chilean brand

Concha y Toro is by far Chile’s largest wine producer and exporter, representing 20 per cent of total Chilean bottled wine exports.
While it would be fair to say that not all the wines hit the spot, there is lots of interest throughout the range and they do produce one of the best wine brands anywhere. Casillero del Diablo is named after a legend put about over a century ago that a devil lived in the company’s cellar (it was to stop many of the finest wines ‘disappearing’).
The current range of wines within the brand covers just about all the bases and they’re widely available from £7.79, but bottles are often on special offer. I particularly like the carmenere and the chardonnay. Unlike many brands, there is a Reserve range offering a jump up in quality.
