Auction will hammer home a great bargain
It's hammer time for a string of properties, as an auctioneer gets ready to declare them going, going – gone.
A series of commercial property prospects are set to go up for bidding in a Clive Emson auction at the Rose Bowl on Wednesday June 10.
On the Isle of Wight, a landmark town centre hotel is booked in with a reserve price of 320,000 to 340,000.
The Royal Standard Hotel in School Green Road, Freshwater, has 10 guest letting rooms, all with en-suite facilities, and the owner's accommodation.
Clive Emson auctioneer Rob Marchant said: 'Until recently the property had been let at 30,000 a year, and someone could get plenty of bang for their bucks with this freehold, which comes with vacant possession.'
Meanwhile, a shop and garage on the corner of St Mark's Road and Twyford Avenue, Stamshaw, Portsmouth, is also up for auction, with a guide price of 50,000 to 60,000. It comes freehold, with part vacant possession.
A former bookshop in Gosport High Street is also set to start a new chapter.
The 2,300 sq ft mid-terrace retail unit, spread over three floors, goes under the hammer with a guide price for the freehold property from 230-250,000.
Clive Emson's three regional sales in April raised more than 10m, with 80 per cent of lots sold.
The company is reportedly one of the top 10 auctioneers in the UK by way of value and volume of sales.
