Starting this weekend, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard has special events lined up across all of its attractions to keep you and your family entertained during half-term.

Starting this weekend, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard has special events lined up across all of its attractions to keep you and your family entertained during half-term.

The fun begins tomorrow at the Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower with a vampire bat trail. Can you find the bats hiding in the museum galleries? Pick up a trail sheet at the front desk and take part in this self-guided activity.

Continuing on your adventure, discover some horrors of the deep at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum from Tuesday to Thursday, where a ghostly diving suit comes to life.

Search for the skeleton crew and find out how Royal Marines work as a team to track down the mystery whereabouts of a lost ship and its crew.

Children will also be able to make a creepy skeleton submariner.

For those who want to get even more creative Halloween style, starting on Monday Action Stations is calling all junior witches and wizards to the spooky activity area to make Halloween masks and bookmarks.

HMS Warrior 1860 continues this with its mess and schoolroom for young officers on the lower deck. Enjoy themed art and craft activities, costumed role play as sailors swabbing the decks and colouring and quiz sheets.

Throughout the week there’s all of this and more. Most of the events are free with a valid ticket.

Each activity may have a different venue, date and time so please visit historicdockyard.co.uk or call (023) 9283 9766 for the full details.
