Everton eye up David Nugent
Pompey's forgotten striker David Nugent could join Everton in January as the Merseyside club look to bolster their striking options.
David Moyes is in desperate need of a striker after Yakubu was ruled out for the season with a ruptured Achilles.
Moyes has put the wheels in motion to take Nugent from Portsmouth in January. A 3million bid will get him.
Everton's Euro push has stumbled as Moyes' strike-force has been hit, with Yakubu joining James Vaughan on the op list.
Failed Louis Saha is also troubled by a hamstring problem so Victor Anichibe is the only fit first-team striker.
Nugent, with just one start this season, has failed to make an impression at Pompey after Harry Redknappp paid Preston 6m for him.
