Santa Claus put in a special appearance at this Christmas party thrown by childminders Carol and Greg Trenchard.

The couple and their daughter, Roeshene, all work for the family business and have been organising the festive treat for the past six years.

They invited 18 children and their parents to their home in Southsea for the special party just before Christmas.

And Santa and his elf helper handed out gifts to all the parents, as well as the children the Trenchards look after.

‘The party has got bigger and bigger over the years,’ explains Carol. ‘It was my husband’s idea, partly because some parents come very early in the morning and don’t really get to see each other. We thought it would be a nice way for parents to have a chat and for the children to have a good time.

‘It allows all the parents to mingle to get to know each other better and the children to have fun and get in the Christmas spirit.’

She adds: ‘Everybody leaves feeling festive and relaxed, ready to enjoy and indulge in their Christmas time off from school and work.’
