Going back to the '80s

A great line-up of original artists will appear at Here and Now – The Best of the 80's concert on Sunday night at Stansted Park.

Kid Creole & the Coconuts, Curiosity Killed the Cat, Limahl, Nick Heyward, Toyah, T'Pau, and Midge Ure will all be performing their greatest hits as part of the proms weekend, now in its twelfth year.

The Here and Now concerts are the most successful and high profile of all 80's concerts. The first tour took place in November 2001, since then there have been five further UK tours as well as tours of Australia, Japan, and Europe. Summer 2007 saw the staging of 17 huge outdoor shows that sold out countrywide.

Here and Now is a nonstop show of 80's hits, with one artist performing immediately after the other, culminating in the now legendary fireworks finale.

Event producer Martin Dodd says: 'The Stansted Park Proms continues to go from strength to strength and I am delighted to announce what is truly an all star line up for the event this year . . . we are confident that this year will be our busiest yet.'

The music start at 7pm on Sunday and takes place on the beautiful lawns in front of the elegant Stansted House.

Gates open at 4.30pm so there is plenty of time to enjoy a picnic before the show. If you don't want to bring your own there's plenty of food and bar facilities on site.

Tickets from www.ukproductions.co.uk and (023) 9282 4355, or call in person to the Portsmouth Guildhall box office. There is no booking fee and parking at the concert is free.
