A GREENHOUSE made entirely out of recycled plastic bottles won Lyndhurst Junior School the Care of the Environment category.
Youngsters at the school in Crofton Road, North End, Portsmouth, created the 8ftx6ft structure out of 1,500 two-litre bottles.
Teacher Marian Green said: ‘This is a great achievement for the kids.
‘A lot of children took part and it’s something they enjoyed.’
The greenhouse is at the Tuppenny Barn in Southbourne, which encourages recycling and growing organic fruit and vegetables.
Maggie Haynes, of the Tuppenny Barn, said: ‘The activity showed children what you can do with something that is potentially rubbish, turning it into something useful and lasting.’
Runners-up in this category were pupils from various Hayling Island schools who took part in a litter pick in Hayling Park.
