EVEN when you are an established estate agent, it never hurts to take a fresh perspective.

So Colin Shairp, director of Fine and Country Southern Hampshire in Drayton is raising the game by offering aerial views of suitable properties to enhance their sales particulars and create more interest.

‘It’s true that when you have a special property to sell, the area of expertise for Fine and Country, you sometimes need to rise above what other agents offer to give the best service,’ explains Colin.

‘We have started to use Aerocam Imaging in Portsmouth and, as the first estate agent in south east Hampshire to do so, are very happy with the results.

‘Unlike conventional aerial photographers, the company uses radio control model helicopters or high masts with remote control cameras feeding live to a laptop.

‘They are approved by the Civil Aviation Authority so can fly lower than the legal limit of 400 feet and you can select the pictures you want there and then.

‘It’s so much better and more cost effective than hiring for a full size helicopter and hoping for the best result.

‘It’s also less intrusive for neighbours thanks to the size of the helicopter and because you can limit the pictures to the subject property and not get anything else in the image.

‘The 360 degree ability of the camera, and the varying heights, allow framing of the perfect shot, especially where the grounds or gardens make a significant contribution to the property’s appeal.’

First to get the bird’s eye view treatment is Sandy Hills House at Shedfield, near Wickham.

The Queen Anne style house is Grade II listed and set in established gardens of around two acres between Wickham and Bishops Waltham. Mature trees and hedges give it a secluded setting away from the road, perfect for an aerial picture.

The main house has six bedrooms and two reception rooms in addition to an elegant reception hall and very well specified kitchen/breakfast room and a sun lounge.
