If you have been down to the garden recently, near Canoe Lake, opposite the playground, you’ll have seen that work has started on the land next door.
It was something of a surprise to find our front hedge taken down and a whole new view opened up across the old bowling green area.
We are really looking forward to expanding ‘over the hedge’.
The land has been leased to us by Portsmouth City Council to use.
We have plans for a Victorian herb garden and we’ll have space to plant some of the hundreds of trees we have, donated by Waitrose and the Woodland Trust. This is going to need lots of person-power.
So, if you would like to get involved by helping us expand our community garden, please get in touch.
We’re still a little in recovery from the Portsmouth in Bloom Awards that were held last week at the Pyramids, Southsea, the first time we had organised the event .
However, we will have the winners’ list and some of the amazing photos from the night online very soon, so keep checking the website at southseagreenhouse.co.uk.
