Chrysanthemums bought in pots and added to the border look great in autumn.

Have your say

Southsea Greenhouse is blowing around in the wind this week. Just a bit!

We have built the trellis along the old wall and upcycled a load of old grills from the windows of the former tennis club (which will become shelves for our tiny plants) .

We are also trying to catch the seed from this year’s beautiful blooms before they all hit the ground and we are rained off into our snug little houses.

But we will be there on Thursdays and Sundays from 11am until 3pm, as long as we can summon enough troops to open the gate.

So come and see us if you want to volunteer and bring a woolly if it’s chilly.

As you know, we love swaps, so do bring along any excess seedlings, plants or produce.

To trade what you don’t need, come on down to our Sunday Swapshops at the community garden at Canoe Lake, Southsea, and you will help lots by reducing food miles and supporting local shopping.

We’d love to meet you if you have a few hours to volunteer or to share your stuff.

Plus, on the first Thursday of every month we run a free Grow Your Own workshop.
