Spring flowers are appearing now as the days get longer and the weather warmer.

Easter Monday is the launch of Portsmouth in Bloom 2016 and what better incentive is there to get planting ready for summer than by entering? Anyone living in Portsmouth (PO1-PO6) can enter free.

There are 12 categories so there should be something to suit everyone regardless of the size of their growing plot.

Categories range from front gardens to balconies, private residences to care homes, schools and businesses. See which one best suits you, get planting and make Portsmouth bloomin’ lovely! There are also 10 cash prizes for the best water-saving efforts.

Details and entry form at portsmouthinbloom.org.uk or pick up a leaflet at any Portsmouth library, community centre, museum, housing or council office or at Southsea Greenhouse Community Garden.
