Staff at Leaders estate agents took part in a variety of fundraising events – including baking, dressing up, long-distance cycling, rowing and walking, and even sponsored head shaving – in support of Children’s Hospice Week, which took place from May 11-17.

Their efforts raised £22,000 nationally for their Charity of the Year partnership with Together for Short Lives, the UK’s leading charity for children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.

LeadersButterflyCakesTogether for Short Lives helps to ensure that every child and young person unlikely to reach adulthood, and their family, get the best possible care and support whenever and wherever they need it by raising money for the 53 children’s hospice services across the UK. Each Leaders branch has been partnered with its nearest children’s hospice so staff can support seriously ill children and their families locally.

Paul Weller, Leaders’ managing director, said: ‘We are delighted to have raised such an excellent sum of money during Children’s Hospice Week and some of our branches still have events and sponsored challenges taking place later this month. We want to raise as much as we can for this wonderful cause during 2015 and we’re very grateful to our customers, business associates and the general public who have so generously supported us so far.

‘Working with Together for Short Lives as our charity partner means we can make a real difference to seriously ill children and their families. Local children’s hospice services are supported by Together for Short Lives so the money raised by each of our branches directly benefits their local community.’

Nick Appleby, corporate fundraising manager at Together for Short Lives said: ‘We are delighted with the enthusiasm that Leaders have shown to the charity. Their support will help us raise much-needed funds for thousands of seriously ill children and their families who rely on the vital care provided by local children’s hospices across the country.’
