Motorhead

It's crazy to think Motorhead have been going for 25 years.

That means they've been playing what they call 'just rock n roll' for longer than many of the people in the mosh pit have been around.

But their extra loud two hour show, which included a 10 minute drum solo, shows they've still got the stamina and hair- to keep up with the youngest of the headbangers.

The gig was among the last on their UK tour (supported by Girl School and The Damned), and Guitarist Phil Campbell introduced vocalist Lemmy as 'The man who puts the mouth in Portsmouth'.

The set included plenty of recent material such as Rock Out from current album Motrizer and old familiars like Iron Fist, Overkill and of course Ace of Spades.

However, some of the older fans may have been disappointed that the set was light on some of their other classics.

They start work on a new album in February, so despite Lemmy ending the night with the words 'Goodbye Portsmouth, remember us, we're Motorhead', they may well be back before our ears have stopped ringing.
