Bex Deen is 29 and lives in Admiralty Quarter. She is sales manager at Tiger Tiger Portsmouth, dealing with all bookings at Tiger Tiger, from VIP areas to Christmas parties.
When did you last go away and where did you go?
Last September, I went with my two children to Austria to see my father who has retired out there. He lives by a lake resort which is fairly back to basics, but really family-friendly and safe with lots of nature activities for the children.
What was the last gig you went to?
I love R’n’B music and the last live performance I saw was Trey Songz at the Hammersmith Apollo in February.
What about the last theatre show you saw?
I took the kids to see the pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Kings Theatre. It starred Lisa Riley and Marcus Patrick and was great fun.
The last book you read?
The Inquisitor by Mark Allen Smith. I really enjoy psychological thrillers, but this was an especially gripping story about a professional torturer.
The last film you saw at the cinema or on DVD?
I recently enjoyed Trance by Danny Boyle at the cinema and I also took the kids to see Oz The Great And Powerful which was a great fantasy film and an interesting explanation of how the Wizard of Oz came to be.
What’s your favourite way to relax?
I love a good Saturday night out with friends. I am delighted to say that, even though I am now part of the management team, I still love Tiger Tiger for Happy Hour drinks on the balcony, then dinner in the restaurant and dancing in the club.
What do you watch on TV?
I don’t. I don’t know why and never thought about it too much, but if my TV is ever on, it is for a music channel to provide background music.
Which celeb would you most like to spend a weekend with?
It’s a popular choice, maybe even a cliché, but it would have to be Beyonce – a strong, independent, successful woman with family values, exceptional talent and real beauty. She is inspirational.
Where do you shop?
I do a lot of shopping online at sites such as ASOS, but I love to browse round the many stores which have such beautiful clothes in Gunwharf Quays. Karen Millen is one of my favourites.
Where do you eat out?
Again Gunwharf Quays, because it is so convenient and has great variety. I make regular visits to Coast to Coast and Brasserie Blanc.
What about pubs and bars? Where do you go?
Tiger Tiger of course, but if I fancy a quiet drink and proper catch-up with mates, I will head for Albert Road in Southsea.
Where’s good for a day out locally?
When it’s fine, I take my children to Canoe Lake or for a game of football on Southsea Common. For an indoor activity, swimming at the Pyramids.
