Have your say

James Kennedy is 31 and lives in Fareham. He runs a Titchfield-based personal training company called Here he describes his perfect weekend.

When did you last go away and where did you go?

Last year, I went away with my fiancée and her family to Majorca. It was just after I competed in a body building competition so my physique was in top condition. Body building isn’t as common in Europe as it is here, so people were fascinated with my image. People were asking to have their picture taken with me. It was surreal but fun.

What was the last gig/concert/comedy show you went to?

I was given tickets, for my last birthday, to see Journey and Whitesnake live at Wembley arena. I’ve always been a fan of 1980s rock so it was an awesome experience.

What about the last theatre show you saw?

My fiancée is a massive animations fan so, when Shrek The Musical came out, I knew I just had to take her. I got the tickets and surprised her for her birthday last year. Musicals aren’t usually my thing but this was absolutely hilarious. I’d happily go see it again.

The last book you read?

I prefer to read up on things that will enhance my work knowledge.

The last film you saw at the cinema or on DVD?

Taken 2 was the last film I watched at the cinema. I loved the first movie and the sequel was just as good.

What’s your favourite way to relax?

Nothing beats a night in curled up in front of the fire with a good glass of red wine.

What do you watch on TV?

I love to catch a classic episode of Only Fools And Horses.

And which TV programmes do you avoid?

My pet hate is reality shows such as made in Chelsea and The Only Way is Essex. I feel ashamed to even know they exist!

Which celeb would you most like to spend a weekend with?

Can I choose three? If Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean Claude Van Damme or Sylvester Stallone are up for it, I’d love to pick their brains on diets, health and fitness regimes. They are ultimate legends in that respect.

Where do you shop?

I love Hugo Boss suits and Armani shirts, but for a more casual look you can’t beat Zara. It’s great quality at a good price and the T-shirts fit like a glove.

Where do you eat out?

You can’t go wrong at Villa Romana in Fareham.

What about pubs and bars? Where do you go?

The Miner’s Arms at Funtley. It’s quaint and peaceful and just a stroll away. For a more adventurous night out, it’s off to the Osborne View for a few.

Where’s good for a day out locally?

Park at Gosport and hop on the ferry to Gunwharf Quays for shopping, restaurants, cocktail bars and the casino.
