Have your say

Parv (AKA Martin Parvin) is a 22-year-old urban artist from Leigh Park. He has a mixtape out now called IDKWTCTM2 and is currently working on his debut album, Nov 10th.

When did you last go away and where did you go?

Last time I actually went away was when I was eight! I went to Italy – a very, very beautiful place, especially Venice.

What was the last gig/concert/comedy show you went to?

A group who specialise in dancers called Small Change at the Wedgewood Rooms. It was a fund raiser to send some of the dancers of the group Most Wanted to Africa. An amazing cause and was a very good experience. Was also a honour to be asked to perform there.

What about the last theatre show you saw?

I’ve never been to one, which is something I need to change very soon. I am a tutor with the amazing Urban Vocal Group who recently performed with Brit Award winners Blake at the Kings Theatre. That’s something I wish I could have attended.

The last book you read?

The last book I read was about the top 50 notorious serial killers. I’m a bit of a real crime geek.

The last film you saw at the cinema or on DVD?

Man On Fire which stars one of my favourite actors, Denzel Washington and the brilliant Dakota Fanning.

What’s your favourite way to relax?

Well, you’ll always catch me with a can of energy drink. Strangely enough, it relaxes me. I also find it very relaxing to make music. Whether it’s writing a new song, making a new beat or mixing a new recording, I find it very therapeutic.

What do you watch on TV?

I don’t watch TV often. I love Match of the Day being a Newcastle fan (sorry). I guess one of my guilty pleasures are the soaps. I also love documentaries.

And which TV programmes do you avoid?

The Only Way Is Essex.

Which celeb would you most like to spend a weekend with?

I would love to spend a weekend with the rapper J. Cole and just watch the genius at work. I’d also love to spend the weekend with Ricky Gervais or Karl Pilkington. It would be the funniest weekend of my life.

Where do you eat out?

Frankie and Benny’s is my favourite place to go. I also love Giraffe too.

What’s your signature dish, if you’re cooking?

I’m pretty awesome at cooking Hunter’s Chicken. I let the chicken soak in the barbecue sauce and then drizzle it over some creamy mash. Very nice, if I do say so myself.

What about pubs and bars? Where do you go?

I’m not a big clubber as I’m always in the studio. But when I do venture out, I tend to find myself trying to dance in Bar 8!

Where’s good for a day out locally?

Southsea when it’s sunny is the next best thing to Miami.
