My business partner Steve Johnson and I opened our first His & Kids Hair Shop in 2007, after seeing a gap in the market for hairdressing services which could cater for both men and children under one roof.
The shop is split into two, with a men's section in one half and an engaging kids' section in the other.
Younger customers are entertained in themed toy seats with DVD players, books and comics.
Our Fareham shop was the third of what is now a seven-strong chain of shops.
We had been looking for some time for a suitable place to extend the business into East Hampshire and fell on our feet when we saw premises with bags of potential on Highlands Road.
With a population of over 100,000, the borough of Fareham provides the sort of potential customer base a small business like ours needs to thrive.
Today, His & Kids, Fareham is a well-established and successful shop.
Our Fareham shop has been important to us because it has helped us to establish our brand in a major Hampshire town.
As with any expanding business, operating from the right location is critical to its success and that has certainly been the case with His & Kids, Fareham.
