TWO men are cycling 250 miles through Wales to raise money for charity.

Matthew Goddard and David Jones, both 34, will follow the Lôn Las Cymru cycle route, starting in Holyhead and finishing in Cardiff, in aid of the Elizabeth Foundation, a Portsmouth charity that helped Mr Goddard’s godson Jack when he suffered a loss of hearing after contracting meningitis aged nine months.

The route will take them over mountainous terrain, including the Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia and the Cambrian Mountains.

The pair will set off early tomorrow morning and hope to make it back in three days.

Mr Jones said: ‘It’s not a huge charity and needs the coverage. They’ve helped so many people, so we feel we should help them.

‘We’re both very excited but also very anxious. Matt and I wanted something that would allow us to raise money but would stretch us at the same time.’

The pair have already raised £1,600. To donate go to justgiving.com/Matt-Dave-LonLas.
