DAILY STAR: Manchester United's hopes of keeping hold of their Champions League crown are hanging by a thread. Also: Emmanuel Adebayor came to the rescue to keep Arsenal's Champions League dream alive with a precious away goal in Spain.

THE TIMES: Manchester United's hopes of retaining their European crown were hanging in the balance last night after another chaotic defensive performance handed Porto the initiative in their Champions League quarter-final. Also: John Terry is convinced that Chelsea will not be cowed by Liverpool's twelfth man at Anfield this evening as they bid to repeat the heroics of last year and dump the Merseyside club out of the Champions League for the second successive season.

DAILY TELEGRAPH: Manchester United are not the only ones who never give up. Just as Carlos Tevez had given the European champions the lead with five minutes remaining, Mariano gave Porto a deserved equaliser to leave United facing the supreme test of their character in the Dragao stadium next week. THE GUARDIAN: The Champions League holders face a challenge fit for a club with grand ambitions. DAILY EXPRESS: Manchester United were left reeling as Porto grabbed two away goals to steal the advantage in their Champions League quarter-final last night. Also: The nightmare of being banned from Formula One races, including Monaco, has moved closer for Lewis Hamilton's McLaren team after they were summoned to appear in front of the Council who hit them with a 50million fine less than two years ago.

THE INDEPENDENT: Manchester United's hopes of retaining the European Cup were hanging in the balance last night after another highly unconvincing display which allowed Porto to earn a deserved 2-2 draw at Old Trafford. Also: Andrew Strauss yesterday claimed there was more to his game than being a "stodgy Test opener" but admitted that he was not ideally suited to Twenty20 cricket.

DAILY MAIL: Manchester United's grip on the Champions League trophy slipped last night when they conceded two potentially disastrous away goals in a 2-2 quarter-final draw with Porto at Old Trafford.
