Jean and Arthur Cray will celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary this week.
The couple were married on July 14, 1951.
They met through the old Co-op youth club, which was based in what used to be Langstone Boys’ Junior School and is now Langstone Infant School.
Jean and Arthur, from Copnor, have lived in Portsmouth all their lives.
Arthur used to be a skipper on the old MV Southsea – a passenger ferry travelling to and from the Isle of Wight.
Jean trained as a nurse at St Mary’s Hospital.
They went on to have five children, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
They will celebrate on the day by going out for a family lunch.
