David and Valerie Pearce celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on September 15.

The couple, who live in Eastney, were married at St Luke’s Church, Portsmouth, in 1952 and held their reception at The Talbot in Goldsmith Avenue.

For their honeymoon they went to London and saw some theatre productions.

David, 74, and Valerie, 68, have four children, Richard, Melanie, Simon and Alison, plus eight grandchildren, Imogen, Leon, Bethany, Jack, Isabelle, Oliver, Finley and Charlotte.

To celebrate the occasion, they hosted a lunch at Barnabys in Southsea. This was followed by a party with cake and bubbly at the family home.
