The festive spirit and sparkling atmosphere of Christmas will be at Osborne House this weekend as it hosts its annual Victorian Christmas Weekend.

Running tomorrow and Sunday, there will be a host of traditional festivities on offer to get the holiday season started.

The weekend will include authentic sideshow games, fairground stalls, a coconut shy, hoopla and a traditional carousel. For the younger visitors there will be Victorian-style toy makers and the chance to win your very own prize to take home. And, of course, no festive day would be complete without a visit from Father Christmas.

A traditional brass band will be there on the day to sing carols, while there will be music hall versions of The Twelve Days of Christmas and Ding Dong Merrily on High!

Characters will mingle with the crowd over the weekend and guests will be given the chance to glimpse life below stairs at the Royal residence.

The event runs from 10am to 5pm on both days. Tickets cost £8.20 for children, £13.60 for adults and a family ticket is £35.40. Book tickets on (0870) 333 1183 or go to english-heritage.org.uk.
