Gosport Business Centre in Aerodrome Road was named Best Business at our awards night.

The firm scooped the top prize for raising £30,000 for the Rainbow Centre in Bradbury Building, Palmerston Drive, Fareham, in three years.

Andrew Weston, centre manager, said he was amazed to have won.

He said: ‘We cannot believe we have won – I was actually shaking a little afterwards.

‘We were up against some really good competition, so we could not believe our business was called out as the winner.

‘It’s lovely to be recognised for all the work we have done.

‘We picked the Rainbow Centre because we wanted to help improve the quality of life of young people.’

Kerry Loughrey, assistant manager, added: ‘The award makes all the fundraising activities, like skydiving, running marathons and holding fetes, even more worthwhile.’

Access Self Storage, in Regent Street, Landport, Portsmouth was runner-up in the category.

The store had appealed for unwanted presents to be donated, so they could be passed on to children at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham.
