IT HAS been a year of celebration for Britain this year, but the party hasn’t stopped quite yet as the RAFA Shoreham Airshow is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the RAF central flying school.
The display, which is now in its 23rd year, will feature a range of planes from the past to give families a aviation themed day out.
The Avro Vulcan will be at the family event (subject to weather conditions) and the RAF is providing two GR4 Tornado aircraft for the display.
There will also be the RAF Hawk, Tucano, Tutor, BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight) and the Falcon’s Parachute Team (Saturday).
The Parachute Regiments Red Devils will drop in on the Sunday, while the First World War display team will perform an aerial dogfight. They will also be joined by Spitfires and Hurricanes.
Aeorbatic teams will also be there over the weekend with Matadors, Trig Aerobatic Pitts Duo, and the SWIP team along with several singleton displays.
The airshow will also have flight simultators, a fun fair, a children’s circus, craft tent, trade stands and a large military vehicle parade to keep all the family entertained, whatever the weather.
