All the family can make animal masks, learn about their favourite creatures and even take part in maypole dancing at Marwell Zoo, near Winchester this bank holiday weekend.

The popular family attraction is holding its May Day Festival tomorrow, Sunday and Monday, offering a whole host of springtime festival fun. Visitors can hear May Day stories and learn how to dance around the maypole.

They can also take part in creative crafts, listen to talks and see feeds with their favourite animals.

Throughout the day there will be talks on some of the most popular animals at the zoo, including giraffes, meerkats, rhinos and penguins.

Children can put their creative skills to use and make animal masks also.

There will be storytelling and maypole dancing at eight different times throughout each day. Whilst at the zoo, take the time to enter a new competition to name the new-look penguin home.

The 100-acre Marwell park gives you the opportunity to view many of the planet’s most fascinating animals in one place.
