YOU can dine on the lower gundeck of HMS Victory, at the mess tables slung between the 32-pounder guns, this weekend, as part of events celebrating author Patrick O’Brian’s work.
The 20 completed novels of Patrick O’Brian are by far the most popular fictional accounts of Nelson’s Navy. And The National Museum of the Royal Navy is proud to celebrate O’Brian’s achievement with a special weekend devoted to his novels and the Royal Navy they depict.
Included are lectures by leading experts in their field discussing O’Brian’s work, plus a trip to Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton.
The cost of the weekend is £475 per person, excluding accommodation. For details, see ecomags.co.uk/patrickobrian/index.html
