The Stargazing Live event due to take place at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park this weekend has provisionally been postponed to Saturday, February 9 because of the weather.
HantsAstro has teamed up with the BBC, which recently aired the third series of Stargazing Live.
Astronomy is more popular than ever, and families can learn all about it by heading to the country park to find out more about the night skies and look at the stars through specialist telescopes and binoculars.
Hundreds of people are expected to attend the event, which was originally scheduled for January 12 but has been repeatedly postponed because of the rather inclement weather.
Between 5pm and 10.30pm, the free event at QECP Visitor Centre will include 25 telescopes set up on the patio for visitors to see a variety of stars and planets. Each of these will be manned by an expert who can explain the view to budding astronomers of any age and knowledge level.
Parking at QECP costs £2 until 9pm and is free afterwards. Refreshments will be available. For more information on the event call (023) 9259 5040.
