Greetings Chipsters everywhere. Hasn’t it been freezing?

I don’t know about where you live, but at Dunyelping it has been snowing, heavily. As soon as I looked out of the window and saw big flakes of snow falling to the ground, I charged around to Brindley Milligan’s.

We had both been waiting for this day for more than a year. Every time it snows we go to the top of Yelpdown Hill, get on a sledge and zoom all the way down to the bottom.

The top of the hill is the highest point for miles around, so you have to be brave to go all the way down at high speed. Nobody else is ever up to the challenge of who can do it fastest, so we do it on our own for fun – it’s become a tradition.

As we make our way up the hill a crowd gathers at the bottom as people like to watch us every year and we often hear ‘ooohs!’, ‘ahhhs!’ and ‘eeeks!’ from them as we hurtle down.

But when we reached the top we saw Billy the bulldog and Terence the terrier, waiting with a sledge of their own. ‘We’re doing your challenge this year,’ Billy said, ‘and we’re going to beat you!’ Brindley shouted back: ‘Not if we beat you first!’

And with that, the four of us ran to the starting point, jumped on our sledges and off we went.

Zooming down the hill we skidded and slid desperately trying to go as fast as we could.

It was close, but obviously Brindley and I triumphed in the end.
Chip chip for now. Chipper.
