Young children are being offered the chance to discover about what swims in our seas and rivers, including sea horses, puffer fish and otters, at Portsmouth’s Blue Reef Aquarium.

Toddler Tuesdays will be taking place during school term time until February 2013, with each parent with a child in a pushchair being offered £2 off the normal admission price.

Activities on the day will include interactive rock pool encounters, buggy tours around the displays, access to a selection of children’s books, toys and games and a relaxing free cup of tea or coffee for the parents.

As part of the new scheme, the aquarium will also be hosting Seaside Storytime, which will feature talks and demonstrations from a variety of speakers at the cafe between 1-1.30pm.

Blue Reef’s Jen Atkinson says: ‘Many of our displays are designed especially for children to enjoy with portable steps available and we’re also baby-friendly with high chairs, microwaves for baby food and changing facilities on site.’

Tickets cost £9.75 for adults and £7.50 for children aged three to 14. For more information go to bluereefaquarium.co.uk.
