WE may not have Halloween out of the way yet, but the Bonfire Night celebrations have already begun.

Last night was the famous firework spectacular at HMS Sultan in Gosport and there are three more big local displays taking place in the next week.

Gunwharf

Gunwharf Quays holds its annual fireworks display tonight, lighting up Portsmouth Harbour.

The fun starts at 6pm with Wave 105’s Steve Power and entertainment from 6.30pm includes a theatre show with cannon fire, street dance, live music and a laser show.

The event is free (usual parking charges apply) with shops staying open until 9pm. Call (023) 9283 6700 for further information.

Whiteley

On Sunday, it’s the turn of Whiteley in the west of our region. This display takes place at Meadowside Recreation Ground and is free.

Gates open 5.45pm, fireworks start at 7.45pm. There will also be a funfair. Limited parking costs £5. Call 01329 835019 to find out more.

Cosham

On Wednesday, people will be flocking to King George V Playing Fields in Cosham.

The Wave 105 Roadshow will be there from 6.30pm, with the free display at 7.30pm, limited free parking at IBM.
