Fundraiser Alex Keyte is this week’s worthy We Can Do It T-shirt winner because she is raising money to help a five-year-old boy receive vital treatment.

Alex, who runs Shine Hair Studio in Marmion Road, Southsea, is holding a fun day at Portsmouth Rugby Football Club on June 10.

She hopes the event will raise funds for Ryan Edwards, who needs life-saving treatment in Germany.

The youngster has Neuroblastoma, a cancerous tumour on the spine that develops from nerve tissue.

The treatment, which is not available in the UK, would involve a course of radiotherapy and chemotherapy that would help to significantly shrink the tumour.

The charity day will see local singers and bands take to a stage at the home of the rugby club in Norway Road, Hilsea.

There will also be a bouncy castle, face painting, a raffle with prizes and a mini football tournament.

Entry on the day is free.

Alex, who has enlisted the help of her husband Ben, has set up the day because Ryan is the nephew of customer Vikki Gidney.

Alex, of Southsea, says: ‘Vikki has been coming into my salon for quite some time now. Once she told me about Ryan’s cancer, I knew I needed to help.

‘I hope we can raise as much money as possible.’
