Fundraiser Nikki Caputa is this week’s We Can Do It T-shirt winner because she is embarking on a walking challenge in aid of worthy causes.
Nikki, of Fareham, will trek from Winchester to Salisbury in a bid to raise money for Naomi House hospice, which provides care for terminally-ill children and their families.
She is also hoping to raise cash for the charity’s respite care centre, Jack’s Place, which is based in Fareham.
Nikki will be joined by two members of a fitness group she runs called Fab Body Bootcamp for the challenge this Sunday. The all-ladies group meet up for exercise classes at Redlands Primary School, in Redlands Lane, Fareham.
In total the team will clock up a distance of 26 miles on the day.
Nikki is spurred on by the fact her best friend Sam Chapman, of Fareham, works at Jack’s Place. Nikki, 43, says: ‘I’m not feeling too nervous about doing the walk because we’re all pretty fit people.
‘Though I’ve never walked that far before it should be a good laugh. It would be great to raise £400 by the end of it. Every little bit helps and I will be grateful for whatever people manage to give.’
The day before the challenge Nikki will hold a raffle with prizes at her bootcamp.
She adds: ‘Naomi House does an amazing job of enriching children’s lives.’
